____________________________________________________During National Preparedness Month, NTDS offers lifesaving Home Safety Facts - just in time for the upcoming Fall and Winter months.
____________________________________________________NTDS has volunteers stationed in Baton Rouge, LA distributing relief supplies to Hurricane Isaac victims. Residents are receiving basic cleaning and hygene supplies, blankets, and water. To help us replenish our supplies for the NTDS Hurricane Isaac Disaster Relief Fund, there are many easy ways to make a tax deductible donation on this site. Thank you!

____________________________________________________NTDS is accepting donations of new and good used fans for senior citizens in the area. Donations may be dropped off at the office at 1260 East Highway 22 at Lake Road Plaza Monday through Saturday. Call (731) 592-3947 to ensure that a volunteer will be on hand to accept the donation.
____________________________________________________Congratulations to Ridgemont Elementary School in Union City for winning first place in the NTDS 2012 Practice & Prepare Month program! Ridgemont Elementary won a visit from WPSD Local 6's Chief Meteorologist Jennifer Rukavina and a First Place Plaque! Special congratulations also goes out to Black Oak Elementary in Hornbeak, who came in Second Place and received a plaque and video from Jennifer! We would like to thank WPSD Local 6 and Jennifer for helping us with the program this year.
____________________________________________________Residents and businesses of Obion, Weakley, and Lake counties are invited to attend the grand opening of Northwest Tennessee Disaster Services new office on Friday, March 16th, from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Meet our community volunteers and learn how you can help. Refreshments will be served and our Emergency Response Vehicle will be on display.
____________________________________________________A second free Mass Care class (ERV training, Shelter Management, Case Work, Mass Feeding & Supply Distribution seminar) is scheduled for Saturday, March 10th from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the office.
____________________________________________________March is NTDS Practice & Prepare Month. The educational program will teach area school children five ways to prepare for a disaster. After attending a special presentation, children will be asked to take a referral form home with them and have family members sign off on the form that the family member was told by the student at least three ways to prepare for a disaster. The school with the most referrals will win a visit from a WPSD Local 6 Meterologist with plaques awarded to each school for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
____________________________________________________NTDS needs new donated supplies for its 2012 Disaster Preparedness Drive. Items needed are bottled water, cleaning chemicals, bleach, sponges, squeegees, gloves, paper masks, buckets, brooms, mops, shovels, and rakes. Donations can be dropped off at our office inside of the Lake Road Plaza at 1260 E. Highway 22 in Union City Monday through Saturday. All donations are greatly appreciated.
